Level 3 Courses
When the Northern School of Game and Wildlife was given a Purdey Special Award in 2010, the judges were keen to point out that the overall quality, practical resources, industry contacts and experience offered at Newton Rigg was unique in the UK.
Students who have completed these, our 'flagship' courses, have gone on to successful careers in just about every aspect of gamekeeping, countryside and wildlife habitat management; some directly to jobs which led on from their long period of 'real' work placement, others by using these Level 3 courses as a more rewarding way (than 'A' levels for example) of entering a Degree level course. We currently offer:
Level 3 Subsidiary and Extended Diplomas in Countryside Management Game Management option
Most suitable for those wishing to pursue a career specialising in gamekeeping and sporting estate management at all levels. Please note that the title of the course is Countryside Management however we specialise in offering a more focussed programme with game relevant units including:
Understand Deer Management
Undertaking Vertebrate Pest and Predator Control
Use of Firearms in the Environmental and Land-based Sector
Undertake Gamebird Production
Undertaking Shoot Management
Undertaking Upland Habitat Management
You can of course contact us to discuss your options:
